Elevate your entryway or living space with this solid wood console table. Featuring a rustic design, sturdy build, and handy lower shelf, it brings both style and practical storage to your home

We like this table. The boards look surprisingly good. Based on the image, I thought at least the top would be one large block of wood; however, it is actually a hollow box made of boards that are a little thicker than 1/2". There is no veneer involved and wood grains and finishes are beautiful. The listing showed a height of 29-1/2" which is exactly what we wanted; however, it is actually 33-1/2" tall. We were annoyed and disappointed. The seller offered a 25% refund, and we decided to keep it anyway. We bought it as a sofa table however being as tall as it is, we might repurpose it as a console table as it stands a few inches too tall behind the sofa. All in all, we like the table.. Mohammad. This style of table or desk, with a carved shelf or footrest at the bottom, appeared during the Chinese Qing dynasty and is similar in style to many modern-day console tables. The shelf on the version replicates their own Ming Carved Screen, a design dating from the Ming Dynasty and made up of individually carved pieces of wood which are then joined together. Together with the circular brass hardware, this gives it an unmistakable oriental feel. The table has two drawers and a rattan panel inlaid into the top, making it more hard-wearing for use either as a desk or a display table.

This beautiful oriental console table will add sophistication to any room and is narrow enough to fit against a wall just about anywhere. Its horse hoof-shaped feet and the beautiful S-shaped supports (known as 'bawangcheng') are typical of Chinese furniture from the Ming dynasty. Made of reclaimed elm, this table is the perfect stage to display your most prized possessions in the hall or living room.

good quality, very pleased!. Li. Oxford, GB. Mon Aug 21 2017

This table may look contemporary but its distinctive oriental style is in fact hundreds of years old. The rolled scroll effect at the table's feet was common in Chinese furniture from the Qing dynasty (1644 - 1911), but this simple type of construction was developed even before the earlier Ming Dynasty. The Chinese used these tables not only to hold offerings to ancestors but also as general display tables. The version is hand-made from reclaimed elm and looks beautiful in a hall or reception room.

Really can't give this enough stars. It is absolutely perfect in my hallway.. Janice. Glasgow, GB. Tue Mar 26 2019
