This makes it a versatile piece of furniture, whether as a seat or an additional small table - for example in the entrance area, in the bedroom or in the walk -in wardrobe. The Rib stool is made of solid carbonised bamboo with a light, fine structure. With its robust and environmentally friendly properties, bamboo is a popular material in Scandinavian furniture design. Unlike other tree species, bamboo grows in the same place when it is felled. Since bamboo also grows extremely quickly, it is a fantastic sustainable raw material. Although bamboo is hard like oak wood, it makes sense to maintain the stool with a colorless oil. The oil preserves the warm color of the bamboo wood and saturates the top layer for more resistance to wear and tear and stains. It is important not to cover bamboo or to expose it to heat or moisture, as this can lead to discolouration of the wood. the parcel was badly damaged when it arrived but the contents were fine. The stool itself was not put together very well and I had to realign many of the joints and re-screw them . Wood is a living material that expands and contracts, causing cracks and knots. We take steps during transport and in our warehouse to dry and coat suar wooden items, but it may still hold moisture deep within that can seep out over time.Treating the product with a protective oil yearly is recommended, this will also revive the colour.
