Absolutely gorgeous piece of furniture! I have a couple of original 19th century French armoirs in exactly this style but they are not as well made or finished as the 1 door wardrobe. Hand-carved mango tree wood wardrobe with 3 shelves

I had been looking for a linen cupboard for ages & loved the look of this one. Thought long & hard before ordering as it is very expensive - it was the only one I’d seen I liked so went for it. It looks absolutely stunning - so pleased I went ahead with purchase. Only 2 negatives - 1 the price & 2 there was such a foul smell with it - took weeks for this smell to disappear so was a while before I could put anything in it. Don’t know if it was the paint or chemicals used to distress it (smelt like vomit). If I has been this in a shop before purchase would I have still bought it? This wardrobe is impressive in a master bedroom and looks better than in the picture. It is solid mahogany of the highest quality and standard, and quite sturdy, too. The major issue has been the pre-sale service where I had specifically asked about its delivery for narrow stairs. I was told that it will be delivered as a small courier pack for self-assembly. It was delivered semi-assembled in two pieces (bottom and top) and the top part has been so problematic that I had to have it cut through the back side plus the edges, then have the marks waxed. Potential customers need to be aware that 'free delivery' means door delivery with one man so that one cannot notice whether the piece of furniture won't go through internal stairs. I spent £150 for the required changes and £70 on having two walls re-painted following failed attempts to have the bottom part upstairs. It would have been honest to be told of the exact specifications for delivery.
