There are bolts on the bottom of the chair to adjust the height, so if you assemble it and find that the chair isn't smooth, you can adjust the height by using this bolt. Each box will contain two chairs; they have four warehouses in the east, west, and central.

The stools are solid and comfortable and look better than online. However 1 had a broken leg - you need to attach the legs yourself. To get a replacement leg has been a painful process. Wrong part sent from Wayfair, long wait and then new stools needed to be ordered and then collected again.
