The product itself is okay, solid wood although feels quite flimsy. We chose white because we knew we would be painting the furniture regardless but this is a whitewash finish which is not great, unless that's what you're after of course. It is self-assembly which is pretty standard these days but these are a nightmare to build, the instructions are appalling and it takes at least 3 hours to build each unit (x 3) even for someone who is very adept at this. Great products but I had a very difficult time with ordering this product. The customer service agents were amazing, however, some of Wayfair’s internal systems need work when it comes to making efficient returns and re-orders. I had to receive the items which were in multiple boxes (unmarked) then had to open everything to decipher what I should be returning. Upon returning I had followed instructions leaving the items outside, and the delivery guys were constantly trying to grab my attention when on a business call, interrupting my business, even though I had already provided everything needed. Their system also went down when trying to reorder through my debit card, resulting in the need to use PayPal, then my order got put on hold for no apparent reason! Upon redelivery, they left items outside the door on the floor in the heavy rain, which were soaked upon receiving them, when they could have simply laid them against the house under the protection of my roof. The final icing on the cake is that Wayfair wanted to charge me to return the items even though I hadn’t received them yet and had made it clear I don’t want them delivered. This bookcase arrived on Monday and Wayfair on Wednesday morning expect a review of the purchase; the bookcase is not yet out of the boxes. I must ask why I should publicly express my disappointment or satisfaction - does it benefit me in any way? No! But Wayfair pester me with e-mails to annoy me or to show me that I’m an incapable idiot who cannot change a flat pack into a bookcase within 24 hours. It is now 24 hours later and can say that each of the Anita sections which make up the Delbis bookcase takes two/three whole days to assemble. Which means the Delbis bookcase will take over a week to assemble. Of course this time takes into account the need to drill holes and modify pieces which were incorrectly manufactured, see photo. Not recommended for an amateur - I am a professional engineer with lots of tools to help. The picture shows two base pieces the one on the right has holes drilled into the base which should have been drilled on the top of this piece - I drilled new holes in order to make the piece fit. Not very happy with Wayfair’s quality control. Further when I got into the assembly the instructions what Wayfair have done is use the Anita instructions and then added on the changes for the doors instead of modifying the Anita instructions to allow that the doors need to be installed. The result is that Wayfair’s instructions leave you with screwing from very awkward angles from the front when there is far easier access from the back if the instructions had been modified. Additionally the door hinge recesses had been drilled mis-aligned making it even more difficult. See pic. However Wayfair was very generous in resolving the matter by offering a complete refund.. Extremely disappointed. I've had items from Wayfair before. They were good quality. This looks and feels cheap, nasty, similar to balsa wood. Some of the dowel holes do not align. There are no prefilled holes for joining the units together, even though it was sold as a unit. There are gaps in places. Spots of the fake wood effect paint are missing, showing pale wood beneath. Very solid, very heavy, and generally well built. The drawers and doors fit perfectly Looks just like the photos. I had a few small niggles hence 4 stars. Overall I have to say very happy. Niggles are: - the metal pole that supports the ladder arrived as black metal unlike the picture - the pole was in 2 parts and was actually slightly too long which prevented proper assembly. I had to drill extra space inside the support for it to fit - the screws provided for the top were not long enough in some places and I used my own Finally I should mention that at the top, where the decorative part is, measures over 304cm, so it was an extremely tight for us!. We cannot wait to unbox our new library shelves. We had an excellent delivery team too! We have had a great experience overall for the fourth time with Wayfair. We have now unboxed our Crispa Library bookcase and we are absolutely delighted with our purchase. In fact the photos on Wayfair don't do justice to that actual cabinetry. The colouring on the photos looks a little hit and miss but in reality the whole cabinet colour is cohesive and blends and matches so well indeed. We are now awaiting delivery of our matching 1m wide Corkum cabinet which will be placed in a recess in our newly designed library and I must say we just cannot wait! We would like to thank the Romania manufacturers of our cabinets too. We realise that there might be a language barrier but would hope that Wayfair can express our gratitude for excellent build quality to our Romania manufacturer!
