The bed is coated in a print of cut oak wood which from a distance looks real. However, this bed is not solid wood as described, it is chipboard with a laminate print stuck to it. It's worth noting that the item looks grey with a mauve tint in the pictures but it more of a grey with a hint of brown. This is even more so in the fabric in the headboard so will affect colour matching to your room.
