I purchased two of the gold stools. The gold has a soft and smooth finish. They are absolutely perfect. I purchased them to go under my desk, so my granddaughters could have a place to do crafts and art projects. I have purchased other name brand stools at three times the price. These seems to be just as well made. They are heavy and the wood seat is a beautiful Dark brown...almost black in color. They came packaged pretty tightly, so it did take some time to separate them.
