I don't expect it to last. As others have noted, the gauge/thickness of the aluminum poles is too thin; even in the hand that bottom pole feels too light to inspire confidence. But with a wooden broom handle in the bottom pole (up to the neck), and closing the umbrella at all times when not in use, with luck the first thing to go will be the cloth of the umbrella itself: I don't like the look of the sewn cloth "sockets" that the ribs fit into. The pole rotates in the lightest wind when the umbrella is leaned to provide slanted shade: that is a fault in design: there isn't enough escape for wind (the top is too constricted). Otherwise, this is a very attractive umbrella: it photographs well :D.

We used it once and the hinge must had a manufacturing defect or some type of fracture because it broke that day. I would recommend avoiding.

Umbrella’s color faded quickly and after less than a year the pole finally gave out. The quality of the metal doesn’t support the size of the umbrella.

Excellent umbrella, stood up to the storm that rolled in about 4 hours after I set it up on the base.
