Is it normal for no tie backs to be included

I bought this in June 2024, erecting it as per the Manufactures instructions. Although the Roofing material was extremely light in weight I mistakenly assumed that it would be sufficient to stand up to our Scottish weather. I was absolutely delighted with the structure and all it had to offer when entertaining relatives and friends when they called round. It was also ideal for enjoying breakfasts when the mornings were sunny…if it was a bit breezy we would just close the curtain on the same side that the wind was blowing from giving us ideal protection. Going into winter the winds blew and the snow fell and as long as the curtains were all open and the ties were in place the structure stood up to whatever weather we received. Fast forward to August 2025, we experienced a Hail Shower. Nothing major, just your typical Hail Shower. Looking out the window while this was ongoing I could not believe my eyes at what I was seeing!! The roof of the Gazebo was like it had been attacked from an Apache Helicopter, holes all over every single Roof panel! I immediately contacted Wayfair and reported this, forwarding photos of the roof, they sent these onto the manufacturer who replied in a day or so saying that the Gazebo came with less than a years guarantee which didn’t include any damage caused by weather!! A tad unfair as it is subjected to continuous weather, this isn’t an item that you could dismantle and put away for the winter months!. Please be warned if you decide to buy one of these, for your own benefit also purchase a roll of protective Film, similar to the type you’d use to protect your mobile phone with, to mitigate against a hail shower…Or don’t use the roofing that comes with it but buy instead sheeting that is sure to stand up to a hail shower. Don’t get me wrong, This is a brilliant addition to the garden, we absolutely loved it, just don’t rely on the flimsy roofing standing up to our weather.
