Kamado Joe® Half-Moon Cast Iron Grate for Big Joe

Because the cast iron grill accepts high heat and is reversible, it's great for the final steak searing. Used in the lower level of the two tier system, a steak and also be set on its edge, fat-side-down, leaning against a normal grate in the upper portion allowing the fat to render and flame up over the entire piece of meat for a nice "caveman" style sear.

When i ordered my Joe i knew i wanted cast iron grates, ordered these immediately. I've used 2 of these grates for 8 years and you would think i just received them today. They clean easily, have never had any food stick to them and i wouldn't grill without them.

I love these grates so much. They really do well at retaining heat and come back up to temperature right away.
