• SCANDINAVIAN REDWOOD 🌲 Selected from the best grades and grown in Finland. Growing slowly in a colder climate, the timber produced is considerably denser than faster-grown equivalent material in the UK or other more temperate regions. Being slower grown the annual growth rings are closer together which allows less moisture penetration and makes the timber easier to plane to a good quality finish. They also grow very straight in the harsh climate making fewer knots in the timber.
• LOW MAINTENANCE AND ALL YEAR ROUND USE ☀️🍂❄️🌱 The furniture may be left outside all year round. Natural moistures drawn from the wood during the summertime, are replaced in the winter. In this way you will benefit from the extra use of the products in fair weather outside the normal summer season. The factory pressure treatment applied prevents wood rot for 20 years or more. The timber only requires a general feed with wood preservative every two to three years to prevent drying out.
• PEFC SUSTAINABLE TIMBER 💚🌍 The timber is harvested and replanting is carried out under the National Finnish Forestry directives in order to protect this valuable resource for the future to the economy and to protect other biodiversity and habitat in the forest areas. The timber is certified as sustainable under the PEFC scheme.
• SUPPLIED WITH FURNITURE PROTECTOR 🛡️⚔️ Furniture Protector has been developed for this specific purpose and is colourless. It is designed to protect the wood and repel moisture and reduce the appearance of the natural shake cracks that may appear in the wood. Application is easy by brush or sponge and the wood oil comes with full instructions. Autumn is a good time to carry this work out whilst the timber is dry after summer time and will easily absorb the wood oil.
