Rowlinson Patio Planter

Lovely planter, easy to put together and good size.

Absolutely LOVE this planter and have since purchased a second one. Wayfair offered the best pricing I could find, and although the outlay seems high, they are worth the money spent. Sturdy and solid, I think they will last more than ten years. Easy enough to put together, although the screws provided aren’t great. I went to Screwfix and purchased a box of self-drilling screws to use instead. My teenage sons did the assembly for me, and I asked them to put in additional screws to ensure the ends stay firmly in place. These planters are so heavy they won’t be able to be moved once in place... especially when filled with soil! The planters do not come with any lining. We used water permeable landscaping fabric to line ours, in order to retain soil moisture and also to help protect the wood. I used a thin layer of gravel and sharp sand at the base for improving drainage. Also, I purchased two lengths of pressure treated 2x2 timber, cut into 38cm widths to use as supports underneath the planters. These keep the troughs slightly raised off the ground, allowing for good drainage to flow underneath the planters in wet weather. I live in a flat and have a small balcony garden. So I’m using two of these planters through Wayfair to create a mini “allotment”, and they’re absolutely ideal. (Please note, they are extremely heavy when filled with soil, so you might need to check the maximum load capacity if using on a balcony). One single planter holds 225L of multipurpose compost soil. Overall, I’m absolutely thrilled with this purchase and grateful for the reasonable pricing offered through Wayfair. Delivery came within less than a week. Highly recommended!

Easy to assemble, I managed it on my own ( assistance needed to turn it). I have lined it, painted it and have it standing on some bricks to help prolong its life. Perfect for where I wanted it. Delivery was a nightmare, took over 3 weeks but the Wayfair staff assisted really well, shame the delivery firm let wayfair down
