We've been looking to install an awning for sometime. Firstly it will help to keep our lounge cooler on hot sunny days and secondly in the winter when the sun is low we have to draw the curtains to stop the sun light blinding us. This awning was perfect for the job as it comes with a remote which means we don't have to go outside on sunny cold winter days to operate it. Plus you can stop it in any position which is ideal. Installed an awning before but this was much easier as a single integrated cassette. Only issue we had was confirming that the arrows on the cassette marked the arm positions as this was not clear from the instructions or labelling on the arrows. So hopefully this review will help someone with their installation. The product is very heavy and it took 3 people to install at the required height make sure you have some available muscle before attempting it. Looks good and does the job keeping the sun off our patio doors. Seems sturdy and quite well made. Fairly easy to fit once I sourced a good quality 12mm masonry drill bit. Delivery via XPD was not a great experience, arrived without notice days after the estimated delivery date. A neat piece of engineering and exactly what I was after to extend shading to the front of my summer house with one leg replaced by a wooden block at the top to enable it to be attached to the summer house itself. It is advertised as not being used in strong winds but I hope that it will cope with a reasonably stiff breeze as it is a bit of a fiddle to take the cover off and put it back on again. Update 16 Jun 2024: The awning cover has stood up well to some relatively strong winds and the stability of the frame has benefited from being attached to the summer house along one side. However, after some heavy rain, the water puddled quite badly in the first four panels at the front. This has been overcome by adding a network of intermediate supports made out of plastic conduit joined with conduit straight connectors cut out to fit over the existing bars (see photos below)..
