This garden table has been covered with colourless protective oil during the manufacturing process. The absorption of the oil varies depending on the species of wood. There may be a slight oily residue on the table. This can be removed with a cloth before use. There's no need to oil the table before use, you can wait until the end of summer. Eucalyptus is a living material. Due to this, its appearance will change over time and some cracks and fissures may appear in the wood. Really like the table. Looks great and feels solid. Fits 12 chairs round - either 5 along each side and 1 at each end, or 4 along each side and 2 at each end. Extends very easily by pulling at each end, with the flaps appearing from below then slotting into place as you push the 2 ends back. Repeat the process to stow the flaps away.
