The cushions are splash resistant so if you spill a drink on the cushion you can firmly pat the underside of the cushion to encourage the droplets to roll off and avoid them soaking in. Generally a great set and has been serving us well for over 5 years. We use it in the conservatory and take it out to the garden in the summer.
