I've had this for a couple of years now and we still love it. It's outdoors year round in the Pacific Northwest and is holding up very well. I did buy a metal lid separately to protect the fire pit from all the pine needles. I do cover it with the included cover when it's not in use. The fire pit has held up very very well. I got the fire pit that is setup for natural gas. I had a line installed under my deck when I replaced my deck. So no need to have a tank to hide or worry about running out of propane. The surface is originally reddish-brown (resembles the colour of rusting), which becomes darker within time. Really great and sturdy fire bowl. Good size and as it’s iron will last well. Perfect height too so you can sit around it. Arrived in good time and was easy to attach legs and go! However. First time using it and it gets incredibly hot. By that I mean underneath. It is sitting on the decking where I’ve had three fire pits and 2 chimeras before with no issue.
