Brown timber softens a border in a way that painted metal cannot, and this pack of twelve fir pieces gives a flowerbed a natural rim. Every piece runs 60cm long by 34cm high at just 1cm thick, slim enough to tuck close against planting without stealing space. The wood carries a protective treatment coating for life outdoors. Because the pieces are not fixed to one another, a bed edged this spring can become a square herb box or a circle round a shrub next year. Each pointed stake goes 10cm into the soil under hand pressure and comes back out just as readily.
