A Little Touch of the Côte d’Azur Our new umbrella was shading six people within half an hour of being delivered and it immediately made the garden feel ready for summer. We chose this unusually large rectangular design because it is perfectly shaped for our outdoor corner sofa. It provides approximately four metres of coverage, comfortably shading the whole seating area rather than leaving people constantly moving their chairs to escape the sun. It would work equally well over a large outdoor dining table. Assembly was remarkably straightforward, and we were using it within 30 minutes of its arrival. Opening and closing it is just as simple the crank mechanism operates smoothly and worked perfectly from the outset. The included sand-and-water base gives the umbrella a reassuringly solid foundation, and it has felt extremely sturdy in the light wind we have experienced so far. The golden-yellow canopy is the real highlight. Against the green of the garden, it brings to mind the sun-soaked terraces of the South of France and gives the entire space a warm Côte d’Azur atmosphere. As the photographs show, it is bold without overwhelming the garden, making our seating area look considerably more stylish. It is still very new, so I cannot yet comment on long-term durability. My only small preference would be for more natural or organic materials, although the existing construction feels sturdy and practical. This is a large size parasol and easily gives shade to all garden chairs. Good quality and the wind updown mechanism is easy to use. Haven’t needed to use the tilt function, but would need a raised step to reach the tilt function, maybe this could be placed 3” down the pole. Excellent value for money. Fast efficient delivery, easy to put up. Looks good quality and robust apart from one point. The two aluminium sections of the main support post are held together with a thin plastic sleeve! I have serious reservations about the long term durability of this part and don’t understand why the sleeve was not made of aluminium like the rest of the structure. Very good value . Very big parasol . We had to wait for the delivery of the base ,which I had to chase up but as usual Wayfair were very helpful . This parasol comes with the cover which is made of very strong material also comes with the base which you fill with water just be aware this is quite large but I think this is very good value for money as with most of these parasols you have to spend more because they don’t come with a base or a cover .another gold star for Wayfair..
