The product is a must for protecting young plants during the colder months. This generously sized wooden framed grow-house also provides a place for plants to be hardened off in spring prior to planting out, and to be protected from frosts in the evening and morning in the autumn. Made from a stained wood frame with twin-walled polycarbonate sheets, the cold frame comes flat packed and requires home assembly. There are 3 shelves, a hinged opening top, and 2 opening doors with a fastener to keep them firmly shut when required. This plant grow-house offers exceptional value.

A nicely produced hardwood kit which took me one hour to build inside the lounge for ease of comfort. I studied the instructions, read them twice, overnight, and went to build with no problems. The allen key with its hard edges can make your fingers and hand a bit sore- but no gain without pain! I am very pleased with the greenhouse and it seems a shame to put it outside! I ended up purchasing the 11x7 Poppy greenhouse over the Memorial Day weekend, after reading a multitude of reviews. Based on those reviews I decided to give Backyard Discovery a chance. From delivery to final build I could not have been happier with the experience. As a DIYer, this was in my wheelhouse. What was most impressive was the build instructions, which were complimented by the online 3D app. The inventory list for each box was invaluable in saving time from having to look for the multitude of parts and hardware. To make the build easier, I set up a 6ft table in my garage and placed all of the hardware in plastic containers which were arranged numerically. This preparation will save an enormous amount of time searching for specific hardware. The quality of the cedar was very good, solid, and consistent. Throughout the build, the instructions actually had notes, in red, that were important “lookouts” so as not to make an error with regards to specific part orientation or sequence. As I worked my way through the build, the more impressed I became with the instructions and how I could tell that the folks responsible for the instructions were truly hands-on common sense engineers. My hat off to the company for their efforts in making these projects enjoyable along with providing a wonderful finished product…that appears to last. As with any quality build, if you do not ensure that the pad is level and the sidewalls are not square and level, you will not have an enjoyable experience.
