The instructions for the assembly and installation of this product are beyond a simple DIY person. Only experienced DIY people should takle this awning because:- 1. The instructions are in gibberish translated from chinese by a chinese person and do not make clear sence. 2. Some instructions are missing, particularly where to fasten the mounting brackets on the wall. 3. Where and how to mount the 'blockers'. 4. The fixing bolts for the brackets are not suitable for using with hollow bricks. New fixings had to be bought. 5. It is impossible to mount the unit on the wall once it has been completely assembled due to the weight and being able to mark and secure the bolts on the brackets. 6. The mounting brackets should be fixed with only the mounting bar, before the canvass and roller have been added to it. 7. The bolts to hold the unit to the brackets cannot be fitted as instructed because the roller and canvass obscure the holes for the bolts. They have to be inserted from below, not above as instructed. 8. Once built using initiative and mods to the instructions and new fixing bolts it has performed very well.. Tom. Harrogate, GB. Sliding the canopy plastic into the brackets is a bit fiddley but once it is in place and the screws are secured the canopy is rigid and ready to fit. It would have been useful if the instructions stated the required drill size but it is easily measured, 10mm. I spent a while marking the the wall making sure it would be level end spacing was correct. It was helpful to have some help lifting it into place and fixing in place. The excellent product needs a bit more added to installation instructions and print on the instruction leaflet to assemble the unit on the ground and make a template out of the delivery cardboard box and publish the drill size needed 5MM and the horizontal distance between the bracket holes are 37 inches! Pin the template to the wall and mark the holes you need two people to lift the assembly and hammer in the bolts until 10mm away from home and use a ratchet socket driver to do the final tightening! If you want added strength to the frame assembly drill the front bracket hols with a 3mm drilbit and use self-tapping screws to secure the frame assembly further. Unless you are engineering savvy ask a professional's help! Or ask the factory engineer in China to drill all the holes necessary for pre-packing! An engineering marvel at an affordable price delivered to your doorstep! I run a 100-year-old Chevrolet car make all my parts for maintaining it and have done so for 50 years, so in good authority to comment on the excellent quality of this product!. This is awesome! I needed to provide privacy for the hot tub on my back deck, but my HOA does not allow high fencing of any kind. I installed this in the center of my deck, and when I use my hot tub I open each side and secure it on each end so that the entire side of my deck is completely private.
