Squirrel-Proof Bird Feeders

This hanging bird feeder comes complete with an integral squirrel baffle to try to stop them from getting at the bird food. The feeding tray is positioned underneath the baffle, which in turn is adjustable in its position on the hanging hook. This enables the baffling part to be raised or lowered to get the perfect position to let the birds in but keep the squirrels out. The baffle also provides protection from other predators such as swooping birds of prey and cats, and as it is made of Perspex, it is possible to see the birds feeding through it.

Firstly, it has a metal lid to stop squirrels from gnawing through to the food from above. The lid has a closing mechanism that is undone from underneath. This lid then overhangs the seed container by 3.5cm all around making it hard for the squirrel to navigate. Underneath this, there is another metal baffle of the same dimensions that creates another obstacle in the intruder's path. Finally, the perches in front of the metal feeding ports are spring-loaded, so if a squirrel does get this far, they will have their footing removed as soon as they place weight on the perch. The feeder also comes with 3 inserts that can be placed in the feeder ports to make them suitable for niger seeds.

The large Katthult bird feeder impresses with its detailed exterior and is a tried and tested classic when it comes to bird feeding. The design is modeled on a classic barn, as is often found in Sweden. Inside there is a large wooden feed silo, in which the bird food is reliably protected from rain and dirt. The silo is accessible through the removable roof and is divided into two separate chambers, which can be filled with grain feed, as well as with nuts and sunflower seeds. Together with the hook for tit balls, a varied feeding is possible, which will attract many native wild birds to your garden. Two large approach poles on the sides offer plenty of support for the hungry guests. With the help of the tear -resistant cord, the food dispenser can be hung anywhere on trees and buildings. The solid feeding station is made of FSC®-certified wood from sustainable and environmentally friendly forestry and is glazed weatherproof. European production is done by hand with a focus on the best quality workmanship. The external dimensions of the bird feeding station are approx. 31.5cm L x 24cm W x 22cm H.

My wife told me I needed to get a contemporary bird feeder, and not something that looked ‘victoriana’. This was my first purchase from Wayfair, and it ticked every box. Stylish, contemporary and individual. It’s expensive, but it’s high quality and built to last. It arrived in a couple of days and was assembled within 10 mins. Half an hour later I took this pic. The birds have been loving it. Very pleased. My dad bought one as soon as he saw my pics. Highly recommended.. Anonymous. Tue May 19 2020

Sehr schönes Vogelfutterhaus. Tolles Design, sehr gute Verarbeitung. Antje. Erkner, DE. Mon Jan 10 2022
