These chairs are foldable for easy stowing (during winter) and transport. The frame is made of robust flat steel and has a back powder coat, while the slats are made from teak. Teak is one of the most robust wood types and is easy to clean and maintain. It does not need to be revarnished but should be treated with caring oil from time to time. The metal feet have plastic caps to prevent scratches on sensitive floors.

Chunky and traditional in look, high in oil content, able to withstand daily use. All joints mortise and tenon secured with dowels. Made from grade a teak which appears as a warm honey colour and will over time will turn a silver grey. Grade a teak is slightly oily to touch as it is very dense and rich in protective oils, naturally resistant to the elements and extremely long lasting.

Would give 5 stars if seat were a little higher made as well as the rest of the chair - clearly not realistic to leave cushions on in all weathers! Will become grotty even if used only indoors. ------------------ Bought two more a year later - AWFUL - 1 side is 1 inch lower than the other on BOTH chairs and no reealistic way to adjust with out a visibe extention to one leg.
