Already attracting the wildlife to the garden.. Terry. Woodbridge, GB. Thu Aug 15 2019

Providing a shelter for hedgehogs gives them places to hibernate during the winter, somewhere they can be safe and warm, out of harm's way. This is especially important nowadays as recently, hedgehogs have been nestling down in bonfire stacks before they are lit; with tragic results. Made from wood (untreated - which is best for the hedgehogs as it emits no fumes), the hedgehog house has a large opening at the front so the hedgehog can get in easily, but small enough to keep foxes and predators out. The roof is made of bark, and blends in with surrounding flora, with only the cute hedgehog sign above the door giving a clue to who is inside.

Create an inviting feature for your outdoor space with this compact wooden bug hotel. Designed with several individual habitat sections, it combines hollow bamboo-style tubes, drilled wooden blocks and natural filling materials protected behind mesh to create a range of sheltered spaces. The slim upright construction is well suited to patios, balconies, gardens and outdoor educational areas where space is limited. Finished with a natural wooden frame, bright orange pitched roof and coordinating front panel, it offers decorative appeal while blending naturally into outdoor surroundings. Whether placed among flowers, shrubs or garden borders, this insect house provides an attractive way to encourage wildlife observation and bring additional natural character to your garden throughout the seasons.

What better way to help provide shelter to our feathered friends than by providing them with shelter from the elements - our rustic Parkwood bird nesting box will help do just that. With an altogether more natural look. The diameter of the entrance hole is roughly 30mm so perfect for those small garden birds. A small porch completes the nest box. There's a metal hoop to the rear of the nest box, allowing it to be easily sited.

Traditionally insect habitats don't look particularly attractive or fun - this one changes that and will instantly bring a smile to a child's face, as well as stimulate their interest. Offering a nesting place for a variety of wildlife, the front panel features a hollow section that is perfect for butterflies. The top section has wooden blocks which offer a nesting place for a variety of bugs, while the bamboo sections above are ideal for mason bees and lacewings. The house can sit sturdily on the ground - alternatively, a metal hanging plate is included if you wish to wall or fence mount the habitat.

Sparrows are social birds and like to nest in colonies - this nest box makes for the perfect abode. Of sturdy construction, this birdhouse features three nesting ports separated by wooden dividers to provide shelter for these beautiful garden visitors. By unscrewing the top brace situated just under the lid, all three nest fronts can be removed for easy cleaning. Alternatively, a nester could be removed from the box frame to perhaps encourage a larger bird to roost in the cavity that remains. Measuring 47cm wide by 19cm deep and 22cm high, the nest box features two metal brackets at the rear for siting (fixings not included).

These multi-hole nest boxes offer a one-stop solution for housing the birds that visit your garden. The entrance is interchangeable between open-fronted, perfect for Robins, a 28mm hole and a 32mm hole. Simply pop out the unneeded entrances and the bird box is ready to provide shelter. Offering 1.5cm thick wooden walls for insulation, these birdhouses come in a great value pack of two allowing you to position them at different vantage points. A hand crafted insect house to encourage beneficial insects into your garden. The bamboo tubes provides the ideal nesting habitat for many of the over 200 species of solitary bee found in the UK. They lay their eggs in the tubes which are sealed in with a parcel of food made from either cut leaves or mud. The eggs change to larvae and then pupae which hatch out into new bees the following spring. The chamber with the slotted entrance provides shelter for moths and butterflies, many of which hibernate over winter. The pine cones provide perfect shelter for ladybirds, the scourge of aphids. The mesh has been designed to permit access to native ladybirds only, and not the slightly larger, invasive Harlequin ladybirds which prey on our natural species. The section with blocks opens so that you can add leaf litter in the autumn, which acts as good overwinter habitat for another predator of aphids, the lacewing. Ideally insect houses should be located in a South, South East or South West facing location in a sheltered position close to, but not obscured by, vegitation. Great value set of 3. Help provide safe shelter for the bat population, with these large wooden roosting boxes. As well as being one of the most threatened types of mammal in Britain, Bats are also among the most misunderstood. Far from being nasty, dangerous animals, they are attractive small, furry insect eaters who need all the help they can get, and in return they will help to control a large range of garden insects. Bats need a range of roosting sites, including summer daytime roosts, winter hibernation nests and breeding sites. You can help them find a suitable roost by putting up a simple bat box. Bats particularly need help as many of their roosting sites have been lost during recent years with urban development and encroachment on their natural habitat spaces. This large box is therefore perfect for bat families as the narrow entrance slot and strong timber will help to discourage predators and provide a safe space. It also features a landing strip for the bats to climb in and out of their custom made shelter. When your bat box is sited, keep an eye out for common pipistrelles - they are one of our smallest bats, weighing the same as 10 paperclips and are small enough to fit in a matchbox!
