Gazebo came nicely packaged. And I absolutely love the gazebo now that it is up. There were unfortunately, several panels that had dents in them and one of the structure pieces was a little banged up. We ordered the 5x3 mtr lean to gazebo, so not a small structure! The delivery was excellent, they kept us informed of delivery time, so we were prepared, they had waterproof cover for everything, so it was not left out in the elements. Thoughtfulness throughout. Everything was good quality, clear instructions. My husband is 76, and not a builder, rather he was an engineer, so this was a big job to tackle on his own. The only time he asked for help was to lift the front, so he could attach the beams to the wall mounting, it took four men to lift and hold the front upright, whilst he fixed the beams. Apart from that he did everything himself, making sure at all times everything was square and level. He did a fantastic job! I am beyond pleased with the result. It took him 9 days to build, and put the roofing tiles on, and then we had to wait as he ordered the lead etc which was the very last task. A point to note , everything you need to build the gazebo is there, apart from the lead, filler, wall bolts and patio fixing bolts. The hard wear that is with the gazebo kit, is counted so exactly the right amount is there, no extras, so be careful, dont loose, or misplace anything! We have ended up with an amazing gazebo, so much usable space now to eat outside, sit and relax, we absolutely love it, and have had so many compliments from friends and neighbours! My parking space is surrounded by fence on three sides and sits under an apple tree. After experiencing one round of severe hail damage and suffering through another fall of my car being pelted by apples, I began the quest for a carport and landed on this Sunjoy model. I couldn't be happier. At 20 feet long, it covers my entire Q7, and the width was perfect for my parking space. I can definitely open the car doors on both sides, and parking between the posts is no problem. Speaking of posts, our handyman built concrete bases for the posts because of the slope of the space. One other thing to know: in the blueprint on page 4, the distance from post to post is actually 227 inches (not 229.13 as stated in the book.) Took 2 days but 3-4 people, need to make sure you level and check diagonals at all times (luckily my dad knew these things) hardest part and time consuming part is the roof shingles instillation, someone needs to not be afraid of heights and on sit on the roof. As already informed arrived on a small truck with just one man (driver) .. I expected the gazebo to come in panels but small pieces of wood were handed over...I expected two man delivery and product taken to where it would be constructed... delivery was kerbside only ( but the driver was helpful) I expected to be able to assembly the gazebo with help but it is a challenge to my carpenter so it is working out a lot more expensive than anticipated. The end product is beginning to look like photo so l will be pleased although very disappointed at first.....Not a project to be entered into lightly....Quality of wood is good as are all Bloomsbury Market products!. An excellent gazebo with good quality timber, but not an easy job to assemble. This is not a DIY flat pack but a builders kit of parts, although I did to everyones amazement build it myself single handed, but then I am an Electrical Engineer with lots of ingenuity !. Very disappointing that they cant be bothered to drill most of the holes, especially when you get to the end and start the balustrade and find not only the holes are missing, so are any dimensions as to where to drill them, just showing the space between the spindles is not good enough. The roof is the worst part of the assembly when you find 200 pieces of wood with around 450 nails all needing a hole to be drilled to prevent splitting. Having almost finished it, it does look very good, still deciding if I am going to put the shingle on, as there are virtually no instructions or mention of adhesive, I thought this would have been supplied ?. I have watched the You Tube instruction which does not cover this particular assembly. Delivery was very quick, and the delivery drivers were excellent providing us with a lot of help unloading the eye watering mass of parts.. Philip L. Mon Apr 20 2020

I bought this in April, lured by thePrices going up very soon! caption. I paid over pound;300 more for it than the current price, which is rather upsetting. Apart from this, Im very happy with it. It has made a brilliant space for sitting in outside. I chose to add a privacy trellis and a simple balustrade - much nicer than the shed-like walls on offer! DH buying experience was excellent, the team were very helpful. The pergola we bought was extremely well designed and made of quality timber. Self assembly went very smoothly and only requires decent DIY skills, basic tools and ladder. I managed to assemble my pergola (3m x 4m) on my own, but recommend two people do it. Very happy with this gazebo!  We received it in winter and finally put it up in time for Father’s Day. It took two of us about 10 hours to complete it. The instructions were quite clear. They included some extra hardware, always nice. Very clever, clean design. No heavy lifting. You just need to be patient. Although you could use their wrench and Allen key to asssmble the gazebo, I expect that would take much longer than it did. I recommend 2 sockets sets and a power drill with hex and Allen bits.. Once you have a good level foundation, putting the gazebo together is easy and the instructions are very clear. I also found one YouTube video of the build, which helped visualize everything and made it even easier. There were only a couple hiccups — a couple of the screws had messed up tips and would not go into the wood. We found the same type of screw at a hardware store. And the biggest issue was that one of the metal parts was not drilled all the way, they forgot one hole on one side. We did our best to drill through the metal but ultimately left it without one bolt. I think it will be fine. It’s not the sturdiest gazebo ever (the wood is very light), but it works perfectly in our space. Put together over two days, two people.
