Ben Lomond stands like a sentinel over Loch Lomond, a favourite of walkers, photographers and anyone seeking the kind of quiet adventure the Scottish Highlands do best. This travel poster celebrates that feeling - the easy pull of a ridge trail, the cool flash of water, the islands drifting like thought across the loch. It is both an invitation and a souvenir: a promise of air, distance and the slow drama of sky meeting stone.
Part of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, Ben Lomond is one of Scotland's most beloved summits and the most southerly Munro on the mainland. For generations it has drawn families, day-trippers and seasoned hill-goers alike. The area is rich in history - from crofting and pastoral life to the Gaelic names that still whisper across the map - and the mountain has long figured in local stories and songs. That cultural pulse, quiet but persistent, gives the landscape its particular texture: human and wild in equal measure.
The poster's design echoes those old travel lithographs that framed holidays and inspired journeys. Shapes are pared back to essentials: sweeping slopes, layered ridgelines and the tranquil plane of water. A restrained palette of blues, teal and slate sits above warm greens and ochres, suggesting late-summer light and the soft burn of heather and grass. Small patches of white hint at lingering snow or cloud caught on the summit - a reminder that the Highlands change their mood with the hour.
Typography plays its part, too. Bold, condensed lettering at the top calls the place by name - an old habit of travel posters that feels at once confident and intimate. The type sits like a header on a ticket or a map, pointing to adventure without shouting.
