William Morris' use of birds and animals in his early tapestries is a forebear to his later carpet patterns. This home decor design, one of his most successful compositions, uses a dense cover of trailing acanthus leaves, as seen in his first tapestry 'Acanthus and Vine', into which have been placed Philip Webb's five studies of animals and birds. It is possible that Henry Dearle supplied foreground floral details, although these are similar to Webb's preparatory drawings. The wall-hanging verse was later published under the title 'The Lion' in Morris's Poems By the Way. British Art and Crafts Movement.

Leighton was famous for his medieval and chivalric work, and God Speed is an excellent example. Here we see wall art of a lady bidding farewell to her lord as he goes off to war. She ties a bright red sash to his arm as a token, an act meant to assure his safe return. The gryphon in the foreground symbolises strength and courage. This piece speaks of the pure, high-minded ideals of a medieval world that, sadly, never was.

Strawberry Thief Blue reproduces one of the most recognizable of all William Morris designs, also we believe, it's the most iconic artwork in Arts and Crafts style. Jan van Huysum, whose career spanned the first half of the eighteenth century, was the heir to this great tradition of still-life painting and, as far as floral still life's are concerned, its greatest exponent. This high quality tapestry Hollyhocks is undated but features his more elaborate work. Artificial flower pieces that are light in tone makes up a pastel palette.

Primavera is a large panel painting in tempera paint by the Italian Renaissance painter Sandro Botticelli made in the late 1470s or early 1480s. It has been described as "one of the most written about, and most controversial paintings in the world" and "one of the most popular paintings in Western art".

Lady with Fan, also known as the woman with the fan was painted by Gustav Klimt in 1917. The Lady wears a kimono and fan in the Japanese style, and figures reminiscent of oriental tapestry grace the perspectiveless background in a wall tapestry. Klimt’s work borrows heavily from the Symbolist, Impressionist, and Art Nouveau movements, and all of those influences can be seen in Lady with Fan. The extensive use of golds, greens, and reds in this piece and the highly stylized background give it a much sharper feel than most Nouveau works, which tend toward flowing naturalism and wall art ideas. Perhaps van Gogh’s most famous work, The wall tapestry Starry Night (or De sterrennacht in the original Dutch) is one of the key Impressionist works and well known all around the world. It represents the sky as seen through the window of van Gogh’s room at the sanitarium at Saint-Rémy-de-Provence in the South of France. Art historians and astronomers tell us that the positions of the stars and planets as depicted here represent the night of June 19th, 1889 at approximately 4 a.m. Post-Impressionist Design.

Contrasting pigments are woven together in this wall hanging with small, patchy brushstrokes, whereas in the mural-sized park scene-which debuted two years later at the 1886 Impressionist exhibition. This wall decoration has quite a history, having been appropriated by Nazis in World War II, and currently hanging in the Neue Galerie in New York. This is a defining work of the Jugendstil style and was originally painted with oils and gold leaf. As a tapestry home decor, the complex patterns in the golden background stand out dramatically and the face of Frau Bloch-Bauer, wife of a Viennese industrialist and famous patron of the arts, features proudly. Sea Serpents, sometimes known as Sea Serpents and originally titled Serpents de Mer was painted by Gustav Klimt in 1904. It is an excellent example of the Serpents de Mer series, which made extensive use of the female form made it sinuous and flowing. Here, Klimt makes the women into mysterious, mermaid-like creatures. The sense of movement is dramatic, as they seem to be gliding through a sea of abstract lines, geometrical shapes and unusual colours. Klimt is noted for his highly detailed female subjects, and Sea Serpents is a good example, using realistic figures in a very abstract way perfect for living room wall décor.

Water Lilies and Japanese Bridge represents two of Monet's greatest achievements: his gardens at Giverny and the paintings they inspired. Monet moved to Giverny in 1883 and immediately began to develop the property. For him, the gardens were both a passion and a second artistic medium.

It has long been called View of Oyster Bay, however, because the scene so closely resembles views from the north shore of Long Island, New York, where Tiffany built his grand country estate Laurelton Hall between 1902 and 1905. In 1978, Hugh and Jeannette McKean gave the loggia from Laurelton Hall to The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York for installation in the light-filled space of the American Wing’s Charles Engelhard Court. At the same time, the McKeans made an extended loan of View of Oyster Bay to the Metropolitan. For almost thirty years, both the Laurelton Hall loggia and this masterfully crafted landscape window have been exhibited together and viewed by millions of appreciative visitors. Today, while the Metropolitan undertakes major renovations of the Charles Engelhard Court, we at the Morse are pleased to present View of Oyster Bay to our Winter Park visitors.

Café Terrace at Night is an 1888 oil painting by the Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh. It is also known as The Cafe Terrace on the Place du Forum, and, when first exhibited in 1891, was entitled Coffeehouse, in the evening. Van Gogh painted Café Terrace at Night in Arles, France, in mid-September 1888.

In 2006, the Dutch public voted Girl with a Pearl Earring as the most beautiful painting in the Netherlands. Painted during the Dutch Golden Age by Johannes Vermeer (1632–1675), the picture depicts a strikingly beautiful girl in a blue and gold headscarf. Sir Fredric Leighton painted the original Flaming June in 1895. It is a classical home decor work and is considered to be Leighton’s Magnum Opus. The sleeping figure is meant to evoke Classical Greek sculptures of sleeping nymphs and naiads, though her gold-brown hair and orange silks evoke flame rather than water. The flame motif is continued through the sunlight reflecting off the sea behind the sleeping figure which fits perfectly for any bedroom wall art. Classicist Design.
