I am an experienced SCUBA diver and have seen seahorses (the male) in the Caribbean. They disappear so quickly reminding me of an insect or a hummingbird. It’s nice to see this painted likeness in an enlarged representation. The colors in this artwork are realistic and beautiful.v. Marcia. Angels Camp, CA. Wed Jan 23 2019

Gyotaku is a Japanese fish printing art created in the early 1800's using rice paper and natural berry inks to preserve exact sizes of prized catches. The rubbings were used to prove these records as this was pre-photography times in that area. People would compete with each other and needed some way to record the fish as well as honouring the fish itself. The first printing was done with only one colour just to prove size and species but at some point evolved to more colours to bring out a more artful rendition of the subject. This art form reproduces the exact features and characteristics of the fish.

I had to get you to replace the original picture 3 TIMES because the quality of the frame was, frankly, appalling but, the actual picture itself is very nice so you need to give the supplier a kick up their backside!. Nigel. Stockport, GB. Sun Sep 27 2020
