2 reasons I bought this was the soft close and detachable seat design. It doesn't have the standard bolt and wing nut fixing, it's a fiddly plastic springy threaded part that tightens up. It looks nice got a good bit of adjustment but be gentle when lifting up, feels a tad flimsy. BUT ... I'm a fussy chap, it does the job, worth a punt.
