I’ve had this door knocker for years. It hung on our English tudor home in Illinois. We recently sold it and I don’t think I appreciated the little details like this until now. This door knocker is beautiful and well-made. It has just enough shine to it to make it stand out, but it’s not an obnoxious shiny brass. It’s dialed down to give it that weathered, aged appearance. I miss being greeted by it so much, that I am trying to figure out how we can replace the existing (contractor grade) knocker on our new home with this one again. Love this piece! Mine was missing the nut to hold the knocker part that bolts through the door. (Only hole you have to drill through the door) but I went to my local hardware store and picked one up for .20 cents. Not sure if it was accidentally left out or if they just don't come with the assembly. Other than that it took me 5 minutes to install. Looks great and I would recommend to anyone who wants to add "style" to their door. Mine matches my two front Lions guarding my door entry that I also purchased here. :). Coop2424. California.
