The actual fire is wonderful with very realistic flames. However although we measured the fireplace inset hole many times, when the fir arrived it would not fit in the inset. The measurements given for the back of the fire (the part to set into the surround) did not take account for the extra centimetre or so from bottom of inset to base of fire. This fireplace is a contemporary design with an off-white MDF mantle and plinth and a toughened glass-fronted electric fire. The product is supplied in one box with MDF plinths fitted. Simply use the wall mounting bracket supplied to mount onto your wall. The base plinth also includes led lighting that can be operated independently. Due to the led technology, the fireplace is low cost to run when using the flame and lighting effects – less than £4 per year if used for 5 hours per day. The product comes with a digital LCD display remote control which includes a seven-day programmer, a thermostat with the display, a room-temperature sensor, open window detection, and adaptive start control (turns on the heater to warm the room ready for the programmed start time). The heater automatically switches between 1 and 2kw depending on the room temperature and set the temperature required and can be used with or without the led lighting. To meet the requirements of eco-design 2018 (lot 20), this product is designed and manufactured to produce the optimum energy efficiency available for space heaters.
