121-182cm Extendable Kitchen Island with Pull-Out Worktop, White and Natural Wood

Two pieces of furniture in one footprint: a kitchen island 121cm wide that pulls open to 182cm when you need somewhere to sit. The extension slides out on two castors and locks with a brake, so it stays put while someone leans on it. At 93cm high the surface is counter height, which suits counter stools rather than dining chairs. The island itself stands on a plinth, so there are no legs to catch a foot. The body is white melamine-faced board with a 28mm top in a natural wood finish, so the wood reads warm against the white and wipes clean after cooking. Below, the base closes into a cabinet that takes the clutter off the worktop. Allow about two hours to build it, and a second pair of hands makes it quicker. Depth is 70cm.
