I ended up taking the steel hook part off the wood as it was a bit heavy for my liking and it made it easier to fix onto the wall. I I ended up taking the steel hook part off the wood as it was a bit heavy for my liking and it made it easier to fix onto the wall as I wasnt sure if the wall would hold the fixture and I didnt want to take the risk. It looks great without the solid wood so I have no regrets. There was no fittings or instructions that came with it, so you will need to know what you are doing when putting it up.
