This decorative plant/pot box has a very simple and attractive design which would hold several large plants or a variety of smaller flowers or herbs. The components look like they are made of very smoothly finished grooved wood but are actually constructed of metal. The raised construction and sturdy handle make the planter units relatively easy to move and to create or combine into a focal point for a garden.
That said, putting one of these units together was a challenge. There were serious alignment problems with the holes on the bottom of the planter box, resulting in the bolts getting stripped. We replaced the bolts with steel ones, but then the bolt holes also seemed to have problems which the stronger bolts were able to fix. The frame and the bottom grid do not fit flush, though this is not likely to be a problem. Total assembly should have taken about an hour. Instead, it took three hours not including a trip to the hardware store.
Feeling some concern about the difficulty that might be involved in cleaning, drying out and storing this sizeable 3-section unit at the end of the growing season, we plan to place it in a sheltered place spot as a handy and neat storage space for potting supplies and hand tools.
