This umbrella stand came fully assembled (thank God!) and the packaging contained styrofoam completely wrapped around the stand to protect it from damage during shipping. The acrylic is shiny and the umbrella stand is heavy which I like because there is no risk it will tip over if the umbrellas lean to one side. It’s on the pricier side but it makes sense because it’s made well and with high quality materials. I like it and would recommend!
