The zinc sheet of the stable can be pulled out and emptied. Simply fill it with fresh litter and you're done. We recommend frequent cleaning, as the galvanizing of the sheet can be attacked. The numerous flaps and doors in the front area of the house also allow you to reach the little rodent from anywhere. The interior is approximately 85cm high and offers the animals a good resting place for the night. Of course, the run can also be closed so that the animals can only move around in the barn area. I bought this cage for my hammie, and we both absolutely love it! I decided to attach the bottom tray permanently with spare screws that came in the pack, as I didn’t require the pullout tray, although it would be handy for animals that don’t require such thick bedding. I sealed the interior and painted the outside with non toxic animal friendly paint/sealant, the wood was so easy to coat, not to mention to put it together, so quick and simple! The wooden platforms slot into place and are easy to remove in order to clean the cage (no screws) but still secure enough. The Perspex screens are covered initially to prevent any scratches, which was really handy to leave on while I painted it. The item itself is packed very well and carefully.
