The gap between the top of the trundle and the bottom of the bed is 20cm when the trundle is underneath so I shall be looking for a mattress between 16 - 18 cm deep. It makes a very stylish and reliably strong bed suitable for all age groups. The side rails are constructed by using the process called “LVL” which is an engineered timber and is known as structural composite lumber and now often used for joists.
