Other similar items available utilize plastic legs that are spray painted which don't age very well! These are designed to be durable, and long-lasting and keep their polished finish. The glass edges don't have any sharp corners and are also chamfered to give a really smooth finish - again to prevent injury! Constructed using tempered glass means that it is stronger than regular glass and has a higher maximum weight capacity. Using this type of glass also means that if something does happen that causes the glass to break, the glass will shatter into smaller crumbs rather than long dagger-like shards.
