Chilewich Coasters

Acting more like a charger than a placemat, this placemat will sit surrounded and enhanced by the open lace cutwork it exhibits.

Our #1 favorite of all Chilewich placemats! We have a set in gunmetal. This design is beautiful, unique & elegant on our black granite table & our dark walnut dining table.. Robin B.. Sat Dec 21 2024

This placemat is a signature basket weave in halftime. Instead of four yarns over four, the mini basketweave is two yarns over two, resulting in a quieter, less textural surface.

This placemat is inspired by scattered flower petals. The non-woven textile is created through a complex process utilizing special moulds and requiring close collaboration between Chilewich and specialists at the producing factory in Taiwan. Use this delicate modern lace cut-out to surround a plate like a charger, or alone for a decorative and understated placemat that is surprisingly resilient.

Really lovely placemats! The champagne color goes well with silver or gold. And so thin, storage is a snap!. Greg M.. Sat Dec 16 2023

Add a sleek and stylish touch to your next cocktail party with this slate coaster. The coasters are definitely eye-catching with a natural rustic look and rough edges. Foam pads on the bottoms protect your fine surfaces from watermarks and heat. You can even write on these coasters with chalk and make "place cards" for each of your guests. Some items may have minor scuffs/scratches or the package is squashed from being bulk shipped to the warehouse. However, we guarantee all products are new. The photos and title are just for illustration and keyword searching purposes only. As we only use 100% natural raw slate and hand-cut it to shape, irregularities on the surface/sharp edges corners, and tiny chips off within the finished designs are to be expected. Our food services products, such as our cheeseboards and servicing trays, have been treated with acrylic lacquer. Our special acrylic lacquer completely seals the slate ensuring food safety and allowing for ease of cleaning (only for a few exclusive/finest products). To maintain the appearance of these items over time and hide scratches, a natural/cooking oil can be re-applied using a dry, lint-free cloth. Do not wash in the dishwasher; do not use with abrasive pan scrubs; do not place in either a conventional or a microwave oven. Our slate products are heat resistant- perfect for hot pans and dishes; fridge and freezer safe. Please keep away from children under 18 years old, this is not a toy.

Inspired by Japanese Kumiko wood-crafting used for centuries to create intricate latticework screens, this placemat is a gleaming exploration of tessellations: patterns of shapes that fit perfectly together. The traditional Asanoha motif (often used on kimono) was the starting point.

Coffee breaks and mealtimes will quickly become the most interesting time of the day, with these coasters on hand. Pale shades of pink, blue and grey are separated by sharp lines in this ‘Geometric Pattern’ coaster design, while the clever features reduce the bustle and hassle that can often come with cooking. The round shape is lovely to look at, with a luxury, lacquered surface that’s wonderfully smooth to touch. It’s stain resistant, easy to wipe clean and will work hard to protect your surfaces. At 0.5 cm thick and backed with cork, the coasters will keep hot mugs away from your tabletop with a heat-resistance of up to 120°C. To seal the deal, the edges of the coasters are lacquered too, so they’re durable and resistant spills and moisture from wet glasses and mugs.

The perfect decorative finishing touch to any dining table, these 30cm x 20cm Glass Placemats provide a sleek modern aesthetic, with a heavyweight construction that ensures protection against scuffs, scratches, spills and burn marks. The true interior design connoisseur knows how key a role texture plays in the execution of one's home decor dream. Naturally, when it comes to tableware, options abound - from slate to wicker tocotton - but, with its strong angles and propensity for casting a subtle shimmer beneath its local light sources, few materials create quite so stylistic a statement as does glass. Each piece in our collection of glass placemats has been crafted from fully-tempered glass to provide exceptional strength and durability, as well as a resistance to high heat that allows you to serve hot dishes fresh from the oven without fear of scorching. A series of rubber feet on the underside help secure your placemat (and everything else!) in place. When all plates have been cleared, these mats can be simply wiped clean and restored to pristine condition!
