I would probably have gone for a honey coloured pine if one had been available but the one thing I have worked out is that pine is not popular anymore and I wanted something to go with furniture I bought back in 2002. If I could have found something preassemled I would have but this was the best I could do under the circumstances. It is solid wood and a good price for what it is. It is also fairly easy to assemble. I am quite pleased with it now it’s up, but I was cursing in the middle of building it because some of the screws are at bit of an odd angle. The Somerset Bed frame is made from solid Brazilian pine that has been reliably sourced. The simple slatted head-end and high foot-end create a lovely-looking bed frame. It is finished in a rustic waxed color that will complement any decor. Kiln-dried solid pine slats make for a very sturdy bed. 4FT, 4FT6, and 5FT have a center support running from head to foot and also center feet. The look can be completed by adding the Under-bed drawers that will fit under any size of the bed frame to add extra storage or the Trundle bed that will fit under the 3FT only and will add an essential extra bed.
