I would probably have gone for a honey coloured pine if one had been available but the one thing I have worked out is that pine is not popular anymore and I wanted something to go with furniture I bought back in 2002. If I could have found something preassemled I would have but this was the best I could do under the circumstances. It is solid wood and a good price for what it is. It is also fairly easy to assemble. I am quite pleased with it now it’s up, but I was cursing in the middle of building it because some of the screws are at bit of an odd angle. I bought the vestry cupboard before the wardrobe. Our spare bedroom is quite small so I was very limited on what I could put in it. I was hoping for a bit more of a honey pine that would match the furniture I bought way back in 2002. However this was the best available. I would have preferred something that was preassembled with proper joinery, but it was either this or something bespoke which would have been the other end of the price scale. Pine simply is not popular anymore and old pine was too big. It arrived quickly and very easy to assemble. I am pretty pleased with it and adds a bit of character. The table is really nice but it was annoying assembling the chairs, you had to use screws and glue there are also some marks on the chairs which I wasnt pleased with as seen in the pictures however I do think the table is lovely and despite the small scuff marks I am very happy with it..
