I bought this arbour to replace my old one, which had rotted due to the difficulty of repainting all the fiddly bits. This one looks really good and was very easy to paint I altered the layout when assembling so that the side panels had the smooth sides facing out so that the rain would run off easier instead of sitting on the little ledges, and it was easier to paint. The only downside with the quality was that there were a few places where the nails had come through or missed the struts when the arbour was made at the factory and one or two splinters, and bad nail gunning. I painted all the parts prior to assembling (and after) which made it easier to get into all the little splinters and rough bits, and also there could have been a few edging strips to hide and protect the edges where back and front panels met, and the diamond at the back could have done with a decorative strip to hide the nails. HOWEVER Overall for the money it is good value. I am making a couple of ledges for the side windows to hold a cup and it will also hide/protect the edges of the panels.. Vivienne. Great bench, easy to put together just remember front and back panels are different at the top and bottom , one allows seat to sit flatly. Wood is green in a lot of places so clearly been stored in a damp place before delivery. Most of the screws were rusty too. You’re stuffed if you don’t have a drill because no holes are pre drilled so you have to drill the holes to fix it together. I read it needed assembly, figured that was the trellis. However, you have to put together the planter part as well. A couple of screws hard to get in but the gaps, so called free draining slots. Well it does not site flush, compost falls out so putting just pots in it. Disappointed but still looks nice for the price. Secondly, DHL didn’t deliver on the scheduled date because couldn’t gain access!! when they delivered driver told me he’d gone to wrong address. Sadly if DHL is the only delivery option I wouldn’t order again. Edit: trellis won’t fit, one for screw is way off and the other is slightly off. Looks like I’m returning.. June.
