Item arrived undamaged and packaged well. I have a weird staircase. It is open with I guess what is the cieling as you go down. I recieved the other black stair rail from wayfair the other day and it only assists with about 4 steps. I purchased this rail to assist with the other part. Easy to put together and install. My mother is going to appreciate this next time she goes downstairs! I like the look of these. Makes my basement under construction look so much better. Would recommend! The physical width is 1810mm. The height to the top of the spear finial is 490mm. The frame height is 362mm. Electro-galvanized for added rust resistance and powder-coated black, the finish must be inspected, and any chips touched up. The galvanizing is not a 100% rustproof guarantee. Like any outdoor metal product, it may need to be painted every couple of years to ensure a long life. Fittings supplied can be used to fix brick piers, and metal or wooden posts. We were very pleased with the product as far as its sturdiness, but not as much with the problem we had when it arrived! One of the end cap covers on the handrail was missing , so it has left this area wide open to be able to see inside of the handle! This is a real problem ,not only for it’s unfinished look, but moreso for the threat of bees nesting inside of it, causing the possibility of being stung and it’s safety issue !
