I’m really pleased that I bought this bench as it is very comfortable to sit on, even without a cushion. I’ve never needed a cushion, but you could maybe drape a rug over it if you wanted. It was a bit tricky at one stage of the assembly, but I managed and it must have taken me less than an hour, though I wasn’t rushing and that included looking for the right size of Allen key. We’ve had it for a couple of months, August and September, so it hasn’t seen much rain. I think it would be ok if left unprotected over the winter, but I’ve bought a cover which ties on, just in case. A good looking and very sturdy piece of garden furniture. As others have described, it can be a little awkward to assemble, but I did it on my own (4 hours) closely following the clear instructions. I found, as others found, the bolt through the seats to be most challenging. Needed to fabricate the 13mm socket with a piece of foam inside to stop the nut from going in too far, then I could bolt together, first without washer as bolt is short until seated, undo, add washer and bolt up again. Yes, I then needed a second person for turning it upright as it is too heavy to lift by one person once assembled!
