I would probably have gone for a honey coloured pine if one had been available but the one thing I have worked out is that pine is not popular anymore and I wanted something to go with furniture I bought back in 2002. If I could have found something preassemled I would have but this was the best I could do under the circumstances. It is solid wood and a good price for what it is. It is also fairly easy to assemble. I am quite pleased with it now it’s up, but I was cursing in the middle of building it because some of the screws are at bit of an odd angle. Loves the style from the pics and it looks exactly the same I personally. The instructions took a little while to follow as all the screws come in different bags but mixed sizes so I have to check the length of each to make sure they were used in the correct place.
