The Kalamera 18-bottle built-in wine cooler is a great way to start your home wine collection. It is a single-zone cooler, so you can set the temperature that is perfect for the wines you love. It's the perfect size for a small collection, holding 18 bottles, niched in their own spaces on sliding beechwood racks. You can see them displayed through the dark glass window set in the sleek stainless steel door. It can be installed under a counter and only takes 30.5cm of width, so it fits in most homes, and it works if you want to display it in other rooms as a freestanding wine refrigerator. The low-noise/low-vibration design keeps the cooler quiet, and your wine chilled and tasting just as it's meant to, with no disruption of wine sediments to muddy the taste. This cooler is a cost-effective way to have an elegant start to your wine collection. Enjoy!

I was surprised about how quiet it is. Temperature-wise, I have it set to 44, because it usually runs several degrees higher. For example, I have 2 different thermometers inside, one mechanical and one digital and they both say 50 degrees, while set at 44. I can live with that since I'm not a collector and just need bottles chilled in a very hot house. It'll be interesting to see how it will perform in the winter when the house is much cooler. My only real gripe is what others have mentioned: Once you put your bottles in, it's hard to slide out the shelves. It takes some doing. Also the shelves are made of a very light wood, they feel cheap. Other than that, the unit feels sturdy and door closes and seals well. As long as the compressor lasts, it's a winner for the price..
