Yes a lot of assembly, the table was difficult as nothing lined up!! I've been building furniture for the past 38yrs. So am able to find a way around things, but in all honesty, the majority of the public will struggle. It was difficult bending the metal into position, will it last? Heaven knows. But advert should state difficulty is assembling for those who are not quite capable in putting furniture together & there are many out there. Do like it though. This bistro set is perfect for a patio and will turn any small corner into a relaxing setting for breakfast on a sunny day or drinks as the sun sets. The two high-backed armchairs are comfortable which includes a seat cushion with a removable and fully washable cover. The table incorporates a tempered glass top supported on a tripod base for stability.

Well made, everything fits snuggly and gives the impression that it will last many years with very little maintenance. The only downside (and why 4 not 5 stars) is that the chairs are a little low... not a problem in our case as we have bought seat cushions. For others who may be considering buying this, if you look at your standard dining chairs and shrink them by about 10% that should give you an idea of the size of the chairs.
