I love this I don't know why people are saying the material is bad. I think they only say the because the person who assembled it for them was horrible at it. Great value but bunk could be a little more sturdy. Takes quite a while to put together but a lot of furniture so to be expected I guess. 1 man delivery for an item delivered in many boxes clearly marked 2 man lift - dont expect delivery any further than driveway if in a house. Looks very smart in my son's bedroom. My daughter wants one now. Everything is very neat with a hiding place or toy storage behind. Great for small rooms! The reason I have only given it 4 stars is due to the scratch marks and flaws in the paint work of the wood which is not what your expecting after paying £500 for the bed but after taking it all out of the box we weren't going to send it back then after my 7 year old boy has been waiting for it to be delivered. Also, there is a gap between all of the drawers which runs down both sides and this gap is not equal but it doesn't affect the opening and closing of the drawers. However, my son loves his new bed!!. Happy with how this turned out. Fine quality and looks like the pictures. One fixture, a big screw, was damaged and thankfully my handy dad adjusted with a hacksaw. I would probably have gone for a honey coloured pine if one had been available but the one thing I have worked out is that pine is not popular anymore and I wanted something to go with furniture I bought back in 2002. If I could have found something preassemled I would have but this was the best I could do under the circumstances. It is solid wood and a good price for what it is. It is also fairly easy to assemble. I am quite pleased with it now it’s up, but I was cursing in the middle of building it because some of the screws are at bit of an odd angle.
