Initially I thought this would be wood because of the price. When the parcel arrived it was very light, so its plastic. However on reflection no rotting of wood, I love the snazzy way it folds and unfolds. Love the lime green.This could be used indoors as well as out, great to pack and take with you on a picnic or the beach, its so light. For the price quite a good chair. However, it is very complicated to assemble the instructions after the base and for the canopy are not that good and I can see why it needs professional assembly. I wish I had added this on as I now cannot assemble the canopy and have had to call in a handyman. The material the canopy is made of is not weatherproof and it does state susceptible to mould. Chairs took longer to arrive than expected. I ordered 2 chairs with silver trim. One was in a box which said it was black. The other one in a box saying silver had a black trim. We had trouble getting the chairs out of the boxes and the stools were difficult to get loose from the chairs. Bought this standalone base so I didn't have to move a whole egg chair when the sun moved to a different side of the garden. Perfect for me!
