The bed is nice and sturdy. To turn on the lights simply lift the lamp. The only downside is that when you close the bedside table it doesn’t go down all the way because it’s too close to the bed. Beautiful bed, structurally sound and extremely handy for small spaces too! Assembling it is enjoyable, make sure you have a drill / screwgun with a hex/Allen key bit!
