Another open-box win. Fairly straightforward to assemble - many reviews comment that it needs two people but I didn’t have any trouble on my own (maybe I just have really long arms). The only tricky part for me when installing the base , I should have left the screws attaching the sides just a little looser so it was easier to slot it in. Well, this sofa has truly exceeded my expectations! Having just moved to a new property I set my heart on a Corner sofa settee from DFS for our 2nd lounge/ occasional overnight guest bed….but sadly 8cm too small to fit up my stairs. I found this sofa which was able to fit through our tricky access. My husband was so impressed to build it “Plastic covers over the threads on the legs, so they don’t get damaged”….if that floats your boat! Love how the sofa has secret compartments under the sofa which all the attachments arrived in…nice and handy to store valuable jewellery when on holiday perhaps? We hit some problems while putting it together with some ‘holes’ hidden or slightly out of alignment and some very difficult angles to deal with but we managed it in the end! I contacted Wayfair because the description said that cushions weren’t included, but I couldn’t understand why there was an option to choose colour if they weren’t included. They have said it can be returned without charge if there aren’t cushions included. When the bench itself arrived, without cushions, it is just slats of untreated pine with no colour. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. It arrived in a box with hundreds of pieces of cheap wood, which was not labelled, so I spent over an hour identifying them. The instructions were not clear at all, several screws were defective, multiple pieces of wood arrived split. I spent around 10 hours building three sections, I discovered essential parts for the final section were missing, so I couldn't even complete it!!!! Was told I was going to get sent the missing pieces, then told they were out of stock. Also, "Marlow Home Co" is not a real brand, it was actually VIDALXL. Complete scam, very disappointed.. Katie. This really missed the mark for my first wayfair purchase! 1. It came in three deliveries making it difficult to know if anything was missing until it was all unboxed and organised for assembly. 2. The assembly instructions are very poor. 3. We’re still assembling after three days, my husband and I are very competent having installed our own kitchen, bathroom and built a big (4x5 mtr) wooden summer house. 4. It does NOT come with cushions. If you check the product detail’s carefully you will notice this, I did not and as I was comparing to other products that did not show cushions in the product pages I mistakenly thought cushions would be included, especially because some sets were shown with different colour cushions. What makes it worse is that you cannot purchase cushions to fit the set from the brand and have to consider specially made cushions are double the cost. 5. The quality of the pine is really very poor, with several pieces that are split, there are also some slightly longer pieces meaning you have to check before assembling each chair. Awful product save your money! Terrible instructions and really poor quality materials. They give you a tiny Allen key to fix the thickness screws into the tiniest holes and you can’t use an electric screwdriver cos the metal on the screws just disintegrates. The wood cracks when you put the screws in. The pre made holes are wonky and one of the pieces of wood was shorter than the rest on the foot stool causing the whole thing to be at an angle and not fit together properly as pictured! When you sit on it, it makes ominous cracks and I only way around 55kg! I complained and they gave me 15% off but to be honest I don’t think this product is fit for sale! I’d give 0 stars if I could. Great replacement cushions as someone has already said in the reviews better than the original ones I can no longer feel the join from underneath and cheaper to replace than the whole thing !
